Quick and Easy Buttermilk Biscuits
When I think of buttermilk biscuits, I instantly think of stores that boast about light and fluffy biscuits. Buttermilk is not really a staple in my house, nor do I know what it actually does for your baked goods. I know, I know, I'm missing out, I'm sure. Well, not anymore! I am buying buttermilk more and more to incorporate it into my recipes and repertoire.
10 minutes. That's how long it took to get these yummy, fluffy biscuits in the oven. From there, they baked for 25 minutes and then they were done! I have never had homemade biscuits before, not out of a can anyway. These were worth it! Now, they were not Chick-Fil-A quality, but let's be real, no one else can top them. One day I will though!

When you think of breakfast in the south, you might think of biscuits and gravy perhaps?
Chicken and waffles? Shrimp and grits? Well, if you don't yet have a recipe for your biscuits, this quick and easy 30 minute recipe is sure to please.
Prep Time: 10 mins | Cook Time: 25 mins | Total Time: 35 mins | Course: Breakfast | Servings: 8
2 cups flour, plus more for dusting
1 tbsp sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
8 tbsp butter (6 grated, 2 for glazing baked biscuits)
1 cup buttermilk
1 tsp salt
Add ins! Like honey, or even cheddar!
Preheat oven to 450º
Add your dry ingredients--flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt--into a medium sized bowl,
Grate 6 tablespoons of butter into your dry ingredients.
Add the buttermilk and mix well to form a dough ball.
Dust your workspace with flour and knead dough until smooth and no longer sticky.
Roll out your dough ball until it is about an inch high. I cut my biscuits into 3 inch circles and I got 8 biscuits.
Place in a greased skillet or pan and bake for 20-25 minutes.
Brush with remaining 2 tablespoons of butter when finished baking.
